ABSTRACT
Porjus is situated on the river Lule älv about 45 km north of the Arctic Circle. Upstream of Porjus there are 3 dam facilities including the Suorva dams. Downstream of Porjus there are 7 hydro power stations with dams. In the vicinity of the river there are several communities.
