ABSTRACT

Based on empirical investigation, this chapter provides an approach to defining and visualising Internet space. It also analyses the spatial distribution of IP addresses registered by different types of organisations. We start by defining Internet space and referring to IP address space. This is followed by details on our data source and the pre-processing steps that we went through. We then explain the results from our data analysis, especially those on different organisation types. We conclude with a summary of the results and discussion on future research.
