The emitted VUV light is converted into visible light by phosphors in the three primary colors. An experimental set-up has been developed to study the emission intensity of numerous phosphor samples excited by a discharge in typical PDP conditions. Different green phosphor layers will be characterized in the same discharge conditions and the measured visible spectra will be compared. We will study influence of discharge parameters (pressure, sustain voltage) and Mn on the luminous efficiency for green phosphors (Zn2_,Mn,SiO4).
