ABSTRACT

Fig. I. Drift velocities of ions (in 104 cm/sec) - equilibrium WI (r) and nonequilibrium (actually gathered) W2 (r) for a model field.

velocity of an ion approximately on 20 % is lower equilibrium.

Apparently, that the ions, "burning" even near to a sheath apart 2P , have time to gather nonequilib-

rium velocity, as well as shown the given figure (it is considered, that the "mean statistical" ion has zero initial

velocity). Only starting with small distances ( 2-; 0 Acm ) from a sheath, on its boundary the velocity of such ions can be much lower even than nonequilibrium velocity. By virtue of a smallness of velocity of birth

of ions near to a sheath it should not by a noticeable fashion have an effect on an aggregate flow of ions on a

wall - intrinsic error in its calculation will be the difference of velocity, actually gathered by an ion, from its

equilibrium value.
