ABSTRACT
One of the greatest fears that can strike the hearts of parents is that of losing a child. Being lost in the wilderness or off a roadside as the result of misdirection or an accident is another scary scenario. Not being able to keep up with parolees or probationers is a problem for law enforcement officers. What do these dilemmas have in common? GPS, or Global Positioning Systems, promise to solve them all.
