ABSTRACT
As for alkenylene-bridged polysilsesquioxanes, the unsaturated bonds can be used for formation of 7r-complexes by metallic groups. 7r-Bond formation between the metal and the olefin increases the effective size of the polymer chain growing in solution and increases the rate of gelation [15]. This metal coordination offers the potential for an additional method of controlling xerogel morphology.
