ABSTRACT

For the coloration of toothpaste only soluble colorants can be used, in order not to reduce the transparency of the gel.

For the coloration of mouth wash water, only soluble colorants or blends thereof are used, e.g., Azorubin (E 122, C.1. 14720 C.1. Food Red 3) or Amaranth (E 123, C.1. 16185 C.1. Food Red 6). An attractive red color can be obtained by a blend of Ponceau 4R (E 124 C.1. 16255 C.1. Food red 7) with Amaranth (E 123, C.1. 16815) at equal percentages and adding 1% of a 1% stock solution to mouth wash water.
