ABSTRACT

It is clearly seen that the obtained stoichiometric ratios V / Vi depend on the chemical structure of polymers and reach such a large value that they could not be attributed to oxidation of additive ionol. As a consequence, the process that proceeds during the induction period should be interpreted as initiated chain co-oxidation of alkylphenol and polymer, for which Eq. (24) characterizes the change in the amount of ionol expended in chains of its co-oxidation with the polymer, calculated for a single spontaneously decomposed BP molecule, instead of the influence of ionol and temperature on the radical yield from a "cell" of spontaneously dissociating BP.
