ABSTRACT
If a swollen can or suspect glass jar is still sealed, it should be placed in a heavy-duty, leak-proof plastic bag or similar receptacle, to contain the contents, in the event of rupture. The plastic bag or equivalent should then be placed in a heavy-duty garbage and disposed of with the regular garbage (18). If the suspect can or glass jar has been opened or is leaking, it should be detoxified before dis posal.
