ABSTRACT
The Pollution Prevention Act of 1990 (PPA) requires facilities to report information about the management of TRI chemicals in waste and efforts made to eliminate or reduce those quantifies. These data have been collected annually in the TRI reporting Form R beginning with the 1991 reporting year. The following discussions are based on a review of data between the years 1992-1995 and is meant to provide a basic understanding of the quantities of waste handled by the industry, the methods typically used to manage this waste, and recent trends, practices and opportunities for further pollution prevention.
