ABSTRACT
Thermal analysis has not been as widely adopted in the study of organo-clay complexes as either x-ray diffraction or infrared spectroscopy. Nevertheless, since the end of the 1940s there have appeared numerous papers dealing with this subject, predominantly aimed at an understanding of the fundamental science, reporting methods for the identification of clay minerals and, slightly later, deal ing with their practical application.
