ABSTRACT

The use of polypropylene fibres in concrete for effective plastic shrinkage crack control purposes, and to improve the hardened surface properties of concrete, has been established over a number of years and is based on a wide range of test data, most of which has been produced by the Fibermesh Company. In this paper it is proposed to look at the production aspect of polypropylene enhanced concrete, the effects the presence of these fibres have on the rheology of the concrete and how it can be checked and tested.
