ABSTRACT

Thus, given the diversity of today’s concretes, it is especially important to characterize their workability properties in order to properly match the material and methods of placement.

2 Flow properties of fresh concrete and methods of

measurement

With respect to the different suspensions that are the usual objects of study in rheology, the most marked characteristic of concrete is without a doubt its large grading span: coarse grains between 10 and 100 mm in diameter, small grains smaller than a micrometre (al least if the primary particles are considered).
