ABSTRACT
The object of landscape research is the fabric of the visible outdoor environment and its role in natural and human-related processes. Landscape planning tries to improve or safeguard these processes through interference in the relevant structures and patterns of the environment. Depending on the viewpoints and ambitions of the professionals, emphasis is put on aesthetic, ecological, environmental, economic or integrated arguments.
