ABSTRACT
Videoconferencing is slowly enjoying an increase in popularity as technology improves and prices fall. It is however, being used with varying degrees of success. As with any tool, which particular one is chosen and how it is implemented will be crucial to the success of its use. Human factors has shown that for IT systems, the decisions made will be highly dependent on the potential task, user and environment characteristics. The same is true for videoconferencing.
