ABSTRACT

Static Capacity Analysis Model (SCAN) Static capacity analysis is a technique which adds together the total amount of work load allocated to each resource, and estimates the performance from these totals or calculates the gross requirements for the resource. The SCAN aggregate model computes the gross requirements of the planned production for flexible machining cells. The model has the following assumptions:-

1) The cell has a number of stations consisting of a storage buffer and the option of a process station. This allows for process stations such as machining centres, turning centres, auxiliary stations, load/unload and temporary storage stations to be modelled.
