ABSTRACT
The design phase itself generally accrues minimal actual costs, but can be responsible for very large incurred costs. Inadequate design analysis and synthesis lead to heavy penalties in cost and time later in the product’s life cycle. There has, therefore, been considerable interest shown in concurrent or simultaneous engineering methodologies.
