ABSTRACT
Powys is a very large county and at that time (early 1996) was covered by two TEC Education Officers. They both came to see GIS working at the Royal Welsh Show at Builth Wells in July 1996 and were very pleased with the educational potential of what they saw. A further meeting shortly afterwards in County Hall saw the GIS in Schools Project receive financial backing from Powys TEC.
