ABSTRACT
In Germany and especially in the new federal states, a lot of additional courses on GIS are up and running. Training courses on specific products are offered by software vendors; beginner’s courses on GIS are given by universities, seminar centres and private education institutes. The remote study course of study, INTERGIS, is given in the German language by colleagues from the University of Salzburg (Austria, see Strobl and Blaschke, 1996).
