ABSTRACT

In the case of biosolids, altering the risk perception surrounding beneficial uses should heavily rely on the extensive, detailed scientific data which has been compiled during the last several decades and has been codified and documented in the comprehensive 503 rulemaking. Efforts to communicate with concerned individuals, groups and institutions should focus on the quality standards for safe, beneficial use which are based on protective assumptions about the impact of biosolids on the environment, crops, animals and humans.
