ABSTRACT
Effective procurement means getting the right material to the right place at the right time at the right price. Procurement comprises the three functions of purchasing, expediting, and inspection. The work is carried out in accordance with the contract and procurement strategies developed by the project manager during the preproject stage and in compliance with corporate purchasing policies. Figure 19.1 illustrates these essentials.
