These four failure modes represent catastrophic failure of the threaded parts. The basic premise of design is to preclude such failure. Moreover, there are usually criteria that define "failure"
prior to the onset of actual part breakage. This could be thread yielding, which may make disassembly and subsequent reassembly impossible. Or it could be a maximum allowable stress imposed by a design specification.
