ABSTRACT
Exposed applications are sometimes not well suited to the external tooth washer. It may be desirable to avoid visual marring around the circumference of the screw head, or there may be a danger of snagging something on the exposed teeth. The internal tooth washer was developed to accommodate these applications. The internal tooth washer also works well in closefitting counterbored holes where the fastener head is recessed.
