ABSTRACT
GERALD S. DAVIS is Professor of Medicine and Director of the Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine Unit at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Bur lington, and in clinical practice through Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, Vermont. The author or coauthor of over 125 professional papers and abstracts, Dr. Davis is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Chest Physicians, and a member of the American Thoracic Society. He received the B.S. degree (1966) from Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, and the M.D. degree (1970) from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Charlottesville.
