ABSTRACT
The main characteristic of martensitic stainless steel is its ability to respond to heat treatment in a similar fashion to that of a carbon steel. Consequently, martensitic stainless steel fasteners are high strength products with the properties approximating those of SAE grades 5 and 8, ASTM Grade A449, and A354 grade BD.
