Class B wastes must be physically stable or in a container designed to provide stability for 300 years or more. Also, they must be of a type that within 100 years will decay sufficiently to reduce the hazard to an acceptable level if persons might then occupy the site. Examples are wastes containing up to 150 Ci/m3 of strontium-90 or an unlimited concentration of cobalt-60.
