ABSTRACT

To illustrate the practical application of estimators presented here, we employ two examples given by Cohen (1960b, f). Example 14.1 Data for this example were generated from a Poisson population for which A = 2.1. The sample consists of assumed inspections of defects per unit on N = 1000 units, the acceptance number being k = 3. It was assumed that the fraction 6 = 0.394 Of observations for which X = 4 was misciassified as being x = 3. Following is a tabulation of the reported inspection results.
