ABSTRACT
If the flow rate of oil is outside the calibration range on the nomogram, flow rates ofoil and steam and the req uired surface area may all be multiplied by a common factor.
If the oil is stationary, the first nomogram is not used. The AMTD must be calculated directly. On the second nomogram, AMTD is used in place of LMTD, and the oil flow rate scale is taken to mean quantity ofoil to be heated in 1h. The third nomogram is used as with flowing oil.
