ABSTRACT

Weed control is a process of reducing or minimizing weed growth to an acceptable level. This concept is narrow in range as it takes into consideration only the effect of a particular method of weed control or elimination, disregarding both its short-term and long-term implications for the cropping system and the environment as a whole. Many of the current weed control measures are narrow in scope and exclude the benefits of other practices. A control measure without adequate efforts to prevent further infestation of weeds could prove to be uneconomical and time consuming.
