Reversed-phase HPLC was used to determine the natural variation in the levels of ginsenosides Rgl, Re, Rf, Rbl, Rc, Rb2 and Rd in Panax quinquefolius and total contents in different plant parts. Though variation was recorded in individual ginsenoside content, no difference was recorded between wild and cultivated plants of Panax quinquefolius in terms of total contents (Assinewe et al., 2003). O ther active com ponents There are certain very important substances in ginseng. Among them are components that demonstrate anticancer, antioxidation, antidiabetes, and anti-inflammation effects, as well as those which exhibit hematopoiesis.
