ABSTRACT
The entry describes in detail Manufacturing Planning and Control Systems (MPCS). The MPCS encompasses aggregate planning over a longer time horizon. This includes capacity and production rates to meet expected needs. This level of planning constrains near term master production scheduling (MPS) for specific products and their schedule for production. The role of the final assembly schedule (FAS) is also explained.
