The entry recommends that, when defining the scope for a supply chain effort, practitioners should adopt as broad a definition as possible. That way the most process steps are included, and the greatest opportunity for improvement is considered. The only caveat is to exercise caution and not make the scope so great that insufficient resources are available to meet project goals.
