ABSTRACT
Despite decades of scientific advancements and new innovations in oncology, cancer continues to be a major cause of death and suffering. For most solid tumors, surgical extirpation remains the primary mode of treatment. Surgery is frequently combined with adjuvant therapies such as radiation and chemotherapy in an effort to obtain maximal local disease control and reduce the incidence of tumor recurrence.
