ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: In this paper we propose a macroscopic model for elasto-plastic materials with continuously distributed dislocations. The material response is elastic with respect to the configuration with torsion, in terms of elastic deformation measures, i.e. elastic Cauchy-Green strain tensor and metric non-Riemannian elastic connection. We emphasize some remarkable forms of the constitutive equations for the Cauchy stress, the stress momentum and the free energy density, based on the decomposition theorem for metric affine connections. Evolution laws have to be prescribed for both the plastic distorsion and the second order inhomogeneities.
