ABSTRACT

Application of systems of controlled release has extended greatly during the last two decades and now covers medicine, agriculture, the chemical industry, and other fields of human activity. Today all serious discussion of the problem of controlled release of drugs almost inevitably leads to theoretical justification over the right choice of delivery system. A large part of this work has already been carried out and is summarised in the brilliant monograph edited by Lee and Good 1 and other books published during last decade?·{>

Nowadays any development of a new generation of polymers requires theoretical study of the controlling factors for multicomponent transport in polymers. 7 This field seems to us the basic point for the further development of systems of controlled release. For this reason we selected this topic from all other theoretical approaches describing the release of different compounds from different polymeric systems.
