ABSTRACT

Introduction: Our study of sets thus far has been somewhat limited in that it chiefly

has been concerned with given sets and how they may or may not relate to one another with respect to the relations C , E , and =. In this section the study will be expanded to explore the manner in which new sets can be formed from given sets. This will be done using the notions of union of sets, intersection of sets, and their complementation, and it will focus on related properties.
