ABSTRACT

In Chapter 13 we studied methods of producing complete sublattices of a complete lattice. We now apply these methods to our two chief examples of complete lattices, the lattice of all clones on a fixed set and the lattice of all varieties of algebras of a given type. We have seen, in Chapters 2 and 6, that both of these lattices arise as the lattices of closed sets from a G alois-connect ion.
