ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT Effects of land use on nitrogen, phosphorus, and suspended solids concentrations were analyzed. The three main land use classes were forests, deforested land, and agricultural land. The results show the expected effect of land use, but this effect is subject to a very distinct annual cycle of concentrations which can be explained by the ecology of tropical areas.
