ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT A systems analysis approach to calculating the impact of (petro) chemical facilities on a surrounding aquifer is described and illustrated. It is shown that for commonly expected release scenarios of contaminants, considerable difficulty can be anticipated in meeting the attenuation factors required by modern environmental legislation.
