ABSTRACT On 21 December 1988, as the result of a terrorist bomb attack, Pan Am flight 103, a Boeing 747 aircraft, crashed on the Scottish border town of Lockerbie.
The impact of the largest portion of the fragmented aircraft was detected by British Geological Survey seismometers in the Eskdalemuir network as a magnitude 1.3 ML event.
