ABSTRACT

For first-order kinetics, the activation energies of biological processes Involved In the transformation of nitrogen species (mineralization, Immobilization of N from ammonium, nitrification, Immobilization of N from nitrate and denitrification) are assumed to be constant within the range of temperatures encountered In groundwater. On account of a lack of data, the equilibrium constant for the adsorption-desorption of ammonium (Kd) was reputed not to be affected by temperature changes and It has a constant value for a given sol.
