Based on this fact, the POSH basis structure is defined assigning one and only-one of these two arcs in the basis. This particular basis structure can easily be stored by a single pointer, the Basic Release Matrix (BRM), which stores the release arcs assigned to the basis. Figure 2 shows three exaaples of POSH possible basis. In Figure 2. a all release arcs are basic, in Figure 2.b all storage arcs are basic, and Figure 2.c presents a mixed basis structure.
