ABSTRACT
The gate force measurements were carried out by using 10 kg shear stress force transducer which waS installed in the pulling rod. It is shown in Fig. 4. The mooring force measurements of the vessel inside the lock was carried out by 10 kg force transducer. The mooring force transducer was fitted into the vessel near its centre of gravity, and system was prestressed by a 2.0 kg weight. Thus the force measurements were possible for both directions. Usually the force measurements of the vessel inside the lock have been performed by measuring the forces from the mast. However, during the calibration phase it was decided that in the scale 1:20 measurements from the mast do not giveaccurateenough results. The following system was constructed.
