ABSTRACT

Calculations are made for both prototype and model scale. The main calculation is made with an absolute sand roughness of 0.4 meters which corresponds to a Manning n of about 0.033. A sand roughness of 0.15 meters corresponding to a Manning n of about 0.027 is also used in a prototype scale calculation and 0.0076 m is used in the model scale calculation. 0.0076 m corresponds to a Manning n of about 0.033 in the model scale. Comparative calculations are made with the measured velocity profile from cross section A as the upstream boundary and with a uniform velocity profile as the upstream boundary.
