ABSTRACT

Different inlet yelocity profiles. The difference in flow pattern calculated with a measured velocity profile and with a uniform velocity profile as upstream boundary condition is almost evened out two or three channel .widths downstream the boundary. But there are differences in the main flow profile all the way to the intake. With a uniform inflow profile the main flow is moved a little to the left and the eddy distributions differ slightly. The conclusion is that a shorter computational area can be used if there is a velocity profile available.
