FPIC CHIP PINS INTERNAL ROUTING SWITCHES PASS GATE and LATCH
i n power o f two increments. They are usually faster than dis tr ibuted memories,
e.g., access t ime o f Flex 10k E A B is about 7 ns. The memory modules are
dedicated but can also be used to implement complex logic functions, hence
these resources are not completely lost when memory is not needed. R o u t i n g
resources o f the memory and logic are shared and that can also l i m i t the use
o f logic resources. Some new research results [74] poin t to the need o f dedi
cated memory to memory rout ing resources.
