ABSTRACT
Adult life is neither unpredictable nor of a single piece but, by and large, organizations have only slowly and incompletely responded to the issues of adult developrnent. This chapter seeks both to demonstrate the truth of this summary statement, as well as to move beyond it in specific ways that are consistent with broadly humanist values.
