ABSTRACT

While most classical applications of iteration ( e.g., fractal generation [3, 4, 31], complex dynamics [5, 11], and iterative functional equations [26]) use a single function throughout the process, there is a wide spectrum of emerging

important cases where there is a choice of functions at each stage of iteration. Multi-function iteration occurs in refinement algorithms for computer aided design [12, 32], image analysis techniques [4], Markov Chains [2, 13, 34], and asynchronous processes in control theory [38].
