ABSTRACT
The essential work of fracture method has several advantages over conven tional fracture toughness testing. It is simple, although time-consuming. The under lying theory is easily understood, and the method clearly measures the effect of crack tip processes, so the effect of changes in sheet structure can be interpreted directly.
