ABSTRACT
Functional ceramic thin-films have been investigated for device applications since the mid-1980s. Products based on such films have been commercialized from the mid-1990s onward. The field interfaces with various engineering disciplines such as communications engineering, microelectronics, microtechnologies, and informatics and is gaining importance in these domains.
